How To Wear Hair Accessories This Wedding Season

This year, the wedding season has a more magical feel. It could be because many of us have waited a year plus for the big day or because the time spent cooped inside has given us a more grateful outlook. Either way, summer wedding season is finally here and with it comes the must-have trend: hair accessories.

The beauty of hair accessories is their versatility. Regardless of what hairstyle you’ve got planned on the big day, why not add a chic accessory as a final touch to your bridal look. It's the perfect addition for the bride or bridal party. From floral crowns to jewelled clips, below are four stunning looks that can be created at home or in our salon...

Flower Crown

Flower crowns are a timeless, gorgeous hair accessory. Pair a pretty it with soft waves for a romantic summer style.

How To Do It

Step 1: Prep freshly washed hair with our hero Blow Dry In A Bottle, this will give grip and hold to the hair so that your waves last.

Step 2: Dry the hair and then begin tonging it in medium-sized sections. Always tong the hair away from the face to create unified waves.

Step 3: Gently brush through the hair for a softer finish.

Step 4: Place the flower crown onto the head and secure it with hair-grips at the back.

Jewelled Clip

Dress your updo with an eye-catching clip to instantly elevate an intricate bun. This style is slightly more complex, so you will need someone to help you to create it. We suggest coming into the salon so that we can do it for you.

 How To Do It

Step 1: Start by taking a section of hair at the back centre and twisting it downwards, securing it at a clip.

Step 2: Take a section from the side and create a similar twist at a diagonal angle so that it rests on top of the first. Secure it with grips.

Step 3: Continue creating twisted sections and overlaying them across each other from either side, securing each one at the base with a grip.

Step 4: Keep this pattern until there is only a small section of hair left hanging at the back. Then twist and fold this remaining section to create the final bun shape.

Step 5: Secure any loose areas of the bun with added grips and then set the updo with our Fix Your Quiff Hairspray.

Step 6: Finish off the look with a jewelled hair accessory of your choice.

Classic Bow

If you don’t want to wear your hair down, but an updo seems too time-consuming, opt for a half-up style secured by a classic bow.

 How To Do It

Step 1: Start by tonging the hair in sections.

Step 2: Part the hair, separating the top section and gather it together, securing it with an invisible hair tie.

Step 3: Depending on whether or not your bow is a clip or tie, attach the bow over the ponytail.

Step 4: Keep the top smooth, but add body and texture to the waves to give the look more of an edge. Do this by misting Fix Your Quiff Hairspray over the top and spraying Oomph! Dry Volume & Texture Spray through the ends. Use your hands to work it in and create more body.

Cool Clips

Curly-haired girls can reach for a clip or two to give their style an easy, yet effortless edge. Experiment with different colours and textures. We love Tort hair accessories for cute, affordable clips.
