Aurelia Probiotic Skincare is an award-winning line of products that mixes science and natural luxury. Its revolutionary probiotic technology produces real anti-ageing results.
We were lucky enough to meet the Founder, Claire Vero, to talk about her favourite London spots, style picks and greatest moments in her career!
Inspiration behind Aurelia Probiotic skincare
When my skin became dry and started to change during my late 20s and early 30s, I decided I needed to make a serious change to my skincare routine. I wanted a brand that was really serious about age prevention and had data to back it up, was for all ages and skin types and that would be a complete delight and treat to use on a daily basis. At the time there really wasn’t one brand that stood out and satisfied all these criteria so I decided to make it my mission to create this ideal range. My previous work in pharmaceuticals and work in the Dermatology Centre for Excellence enabled me to discover probiotics; the unique technology present throughout the range that protects and balances and manages the level of inflammation within the skin. From this I decided to create and launch Aurelia Probiotic Skincare which would fit the strict criteria I had set for a natural yet scientifically-proven skincare line.
Greatest moment of your career so far
I have to say it has been such a fantastic few years and winning the Beauty Bible’s first ever Best New Brand award in 2014 was a highlight but my proudest moment was being acknowledged by CEW and Google and winning the new CEW Digital Achiever Award. It was such a huge shock and incredible to have been picked among such leaders in the beauty industry and the award takes pride of place in our office!
Talent or ambition – which matters more to success?
I absolutely believe you need both in order to succeed in business. The two go hand-in-hand as ambition is nothing without the talent behind it and vice versa! There are so many incredibly talented people out there who lack the confidence or drive to push their ideas forward which is a shame.
Personal style signifier – blow dry or an updo?
I love a classic blow dry! I love having my hair done, and have a particular nightmare with my fringe so it’s great to be able to have a sleek style done somewhere like Duck & Dry.
Your greatest extravagance
I have a huge passion for interior design and love adding new objects and furniture to my home. I have a particular fondness for Anthropologie and I have to add to my animal plate collection in secret as my husband Alex thinks I have too many already!
Favourite London spot
Alex and I regularly head up to Richmond Park with our baby, Henry who loves watching the deer roam! I find a long walk helps me clear my head ready for a busy week ahead. We’ve also recently discovered Petersham Nurseries in Richmond which has a gorgeous café and some beautiful plants and flowers. It’s such a lovely family day and a lovely part of London.
