Brand Spotlight: Meet the founder of Club 22 Candles, Claudia Noon

Another month means another brand to introduce to you. And as you know by now, we love candles at Duck & Dry, which is why when we have the chance to collaborate with a new candle brand, we jump on it right away!

Our friend - Claudia Noon, Club 22 London's founder, walks us through her (super-chic!) brand, key trends for the summer and what makes her scents so special.

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO START MAKING CLUB 22 CANDLES?

For me I really saw the need to create a brand that can cater for customers who crave that gorgeous luxury fragranced product but are simply not prepared to spend over £50 on a single wick candle! So I set out on a mission to create an affordable luxury fragrance brand.

HOW DO YOU FIGURE OUT WHAT SCENT IS RIGHT FOR EACH ROOM?

When scenting a room you have 2 things to think about- what you use the room for and what mood you want to create. For example, I normally work from home in the mornings sat at my kitchen table, so to get me feeling energised and ready to take on the world, I prefer a more citrusy fragrance. If I am having a dinner party, or getting ready to go out I’ll often dim the lights and scent the room with some more heady and contemporary with more woody noted . A lot of the time you can completely transform a room from day to night just with a change of fragrance.

HOW DOES A SCENT HELP CREATE A SPECIFIC ATMOSPHERE?

I always think adding fragrance is just like getting a blow dry or painting your nails, it’s just small things that can change your mood and the way you feel about yourself and your surroundings. If I’m having a crazy hectic Friday, and the last thing I want to do is go out after work, I’ll create a romantic atmosphere at home by lighting my Rouge candles and pouring a large glass of red wine… date night in is my fav!

WOULD YOU RECOMMEND LAYERING OF FRAGRANCE WITHIN THE ROOM?

Of course! I do this all the time, it’s like an exciting little experiment. My new fav is mixing Vibe with Groove on a Sunday around 7pm. It’s the perfect combo- it makes my bathroom smell like an expensive spa, which I just love for my sacred Sunday pamper hour!!

WHICH IS THE HOT HOME SCENT FOR THE SUMMER SEASON?

This summer the fragrance industry is loving the mix of a citrusy floral, lots of rose combinations have surfaced. Certainly for us, the number one home scent this year will be Swish which has gorgeous notes of orange blossom mixed with peony, rose, vanilla and moss.
